Why Register (More Details)

The game you got is fully compatible to the original (as far as I know), and will continue to work even if you don't register. I did put a lot of effort into it and acknowledging this effort would really by nice.

The non-compatible Kids Mode allows non-hardcore Manic Miner fans to play the game as well. This mode is fully available only when the game is registered. Kids Mode is available for the first 4 levels in unregistered versions of the game.

You can choose the level at which the game starts. The unregistered version supports starting at any of the first 4 levels. The registered version allows you to start at any level (assuming you've finished the previous level).

Only the registered version supports the cheatcodes, which will give you infinite lives and the ability to skip to any level (without any limitation).

The game only costs $7, and you can pay with a PayPal account, or with your credit card (again, using PayPal as the service provider).

How to Register (More details)
Registration is done from within Manic Miner for Windows. These are the steps involved in registration:

* Run Manic Miner for Windows and click on the Register button.

* Click on the first button (I would like to go online...)

* Read the provided information and when ready, click on the PayPal register button to continue with the registration

* You'll be redirected to PayPal's site, where you can pay using a credit card or a PayPal account.

* After completing the registration, you'll get two e-mails. The first from PayPal, confirming your payment. The second, from , will contain a registration code and instructions on how to enter it and complete the registration process. Don't confuse the serial number shown in the PayPal e-mail with the registration code, the registration code you need is a 16 letter code in the format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

Once again, run Manic Miner for Windows and click on the Register button.

* This time, click on the second button (I have a registration code...)

* You'll get a ZX Spectrum-like command at the bottom of the screen. Type your registration number and press Enter to complete the registration process.
Note: My appologies for non-ZX Spectrum fans. I added this Spectrum-like registration for the nostalgic value in it. I know Manic Miner was also ported to other computers (e.g. the C64), but I played it on the Spectrum.
